Onesie Party!

A close friend of mine is anticipating the arrival of her new baby boy (any day now!) and a couple weeks ago we had a little party in her honor. Since this is her third, she wasn’t sure she wanted a traditional “shower,” so I planned a onesie-decorating party. Everyone brought 2 or 3 plain onesies, and I had stations set up with different options for decorating–we had appliques, freezer paper stencils (the easiest and most addictive project ever!), and some puff paints for free-handing designs. She ended up with almost 20 onesies, in the full range of sizes, to take home for the new baby.

First, here is the invitation! All the info inside a onesie and printed on light blue paper.

A couple quick shots from the party. There was also food, and little blue cupcakes to celebrate the baby, but, of course, there are no pictures of those things (still working on that whole “taking pictures of my own life” thing!).

With all the news today, I feel so grateful for family and friends, for life and health, and for the opportunity to celebrate. We are keeping Japan in our thoughts and prayers. I hope you have a joyful, happy and peaceful weekend.

(Update: She’s in the hospital right now–the little guy should be here very soon!)
