Columbia, SC (and beyond), on film

While visiting my sister last week, she took me all around Columbia, to the “touristy”-type places that she, having lived there for 3 years (and moving away in just a few months), hadn’t visited. And, while there, I shot some film. I have to say, I’ve missed it–even if, as I’m a bit embarrassed to admit, I often caught myself looking down blankly at the back of my camera after taking a shot.

(If anyone cares, all the below were shot on Kodak Portra 400, with Zack’s trusty ol’ FM10, and very minimal post processing, for the most part.)

The SC statehouse, and nearby, including the Columbia Museum of Art.

We also went to the South Carolina State Museum and then, again, wandered around exploring for awhile.

Last morning in Columbia, starting the trip back to Charlotte.

In Waxhaw, NC, as we headed back towards Charlotte for the wedding. A cute little town, with antique shops, an ice cream parlor and a foot bridge over the tracks, so that you can stand above a moving train.

I’ll try to share a couple shots from the wedding at some point, but this post is long enough already. Also, I just set up a “personal work” section of my proofing website so that, if anyone felt so inclined, they would be able to purchase prints of the personal work (like these) that I post from time to time.

Oh, and, one last thing: do you remember when I said several weeks ago that we got some “exciting news on the personal front?” In case I left anyone hanging…no, we’re not having a baby :) But, we bought a house! We’ve been working on it like crazy, and moved in last weekend. I can’t wait to share some pictures with you once it is all put together.

Have a beautiful weekend!
