photography class: patterns and textures

some patterns & textures from my instagram, where you can find me at @snyderb

Last week, in Photography class, we discussed focusing closely on patterns and textures. Finding the geometric patterns in nature and in man-made structures can allow us to look at something in an entirely different way (and easily create some really “artsy,” unique photographs). And, as I told my students, if you want to create some gorgeous original artwork for your wall, all you’ve got to do is find some unique details and textures. Photograph the pattern created by (and texture of) the pile of silverware on your kitchen counter, an old brick wall, the leaves of a tree–anything!
