I have had the privilege of working in many different genres of photography, from four years in a mall portrait studio to working as a newspaper photojournalist and photo editor before launching Briana Snyder Photography in 2009 after graduating from the University of Dayton. I’ve continued to offer portrait photography as Briana Snyder Photography while expanding to offer commercial photography and video production through Knack Creative, launched in 2016 with my life-and-business partner Max Spang.
In between, I earned a Master’s degree in International and Comparative Politics from Wright State University, open and closed a card and party store in downtown Dayton, and spent probably too much time listening to political podcasts. I’m passionate about working towards equality and social justice. I really love a dog named Maggie.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing families, couples, babies, artists, musicians, models, drag queens, Bill Clinton, Martin Sheen, a fly-mating greenhouse, a myriad of farm animals, politicians and candidates, massive factory machinery, CEOs, dancers and skaters, arborists and athletes. My approach to photography has developed out of these varied experiences, and is simple: to document my subjects truly and naturally. My goal is always to find the substance and story behind the moment, and I’d love the opportunity to capture yours.
Our white-box studio in downtown Dayton at 42 W. Fifth St. It features a wall of north-facing windows for lovely window light. One long wall is entirely white-painted brick for a beautiful textured background, with white baseboards and light-colored wood floors. It is the perfect space for portraits, and our being situated in downtown’s center provides the opportunity for additional outdoor locations for portraits.
We rent our studio, too! It is the perfect location for photo or video shoots, events, a bridal getting-ready space, art galleries and trunk shows–whatever you might need space for. Click here to book.
